Lower Left Abdominal Pain in Males and Lower right Abdominal Pain in Males.




Lower Right Abdominal pain is normally easy to interpret as an appendix
is present in the lower right Abdomen. But lower left abdominal pain is difficult to interpret as there can be various causes
. Other related Questions should be asked from the patient to confirm the diagnosis.
following are some causes of lower left abdominal pain.

1. Kidney Stones.

                      In Kidney problems, Pain is normally referred to the side and back of the abdomen. but it some cases for example in case of ectopic descended kidneys, pain may be referred to the lower left abdomen if a left kidney is involved. Patient must be questioned about blood, pus or burning sensation during urination to suspect any kidney or bladder problem.

2. Vesiculitis.
                Inflammation of left seminal vesicle (vesiculitis) may cause lower left abdominal pain.  seminal vesicles are present in the pelvic cavity, behind the bladder and are responsible for proper semen production. 60 per cent of semen fluid comes from seminal vesicles.


3. Cystitis.
            Inflammation of Urinary Bladder is called Cystitis.. it may be a cause of lower abdominal pain.

4. Aneurysm of left lower Epigastric Artery.
           It is a disease of Lower left epigastric artery and this artery is present in the lower left abdomen. in this condition, the patient may feel a lump in the lower left abdominal region.. In an aneurysm, An artery dilates and blood is collected in the dilated portion which results in lump formation.

5. Diverticulitis.
                A diverticulum is an outpouching of an intestinal wall. It resembles appendix. If a diverticulum is present in the left descending colon, its inflammation can cause lower left abdominal pain.

6. Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
                In Irritable Bowel Syndrome, a person may feel lower left abdominal pain. And This pain is associated with frequent bowel movements and diarrhea.

7. Colon Cancer.
              This is another condition in which a person may feel severe abdominal pain and discomfort.

8. Chronic Constipation.
             It can lead to lower left abdominal pain.

In Lower Right Side Of abdomen Three additional conditions must be taken under consideration.

1. Appendicitis: 
             Inflammation of Appendix. which can result in severe lower right abdominal pain.

2. Mickel's Diverticulitis:
            Mickel's Diverticulum is present 2 % of the population and its inflammation may mimic the pain of appendicitis. Therefore, in the appendectomy procedure, distal two feet of ileum is checked for the presence and inflammation of Mickel's Diverticulum.

3. Right lower epigastric artery aneurysm.

  3. the pain you felt after eating mean is most probably indicate Gastritis or Stomach Ulcer..
    being a clinical Pharmacist i suggest you to take
    Tab Femotidine 20mg BD 1/2 hr before meal.
    and try to change your lifestyle.e.g eat healthy and fibrous food avoid protein rich food which can exaggerate your symptoms,avoid fatty and oil rich food.
    also take Psyllum Husk at night before sleep..
    it will resolve your problem.
